2010 Season - Week 12
BUMS go South – Part 2
5 BUMS plus special celebrity guest Keith Patton flew back into the UK on Tuesday after seeing 5 live gridiron games in 10 days. It was a Texas Regional High School Play-offs game on Friday 19th Then on Saturday 20th it was an SEC College Game. On Sunday the Saints easily handled the Seahawks. We saw Dallas host New Orleans on Thanksgiving Day and after a great comeback from 17-0 down Dallas took the lead with 4 minutes left only to see Drew Brees throw his only TD pass with 68 seconds to go. We returned to Houston to see the Texans shut-out Tennessee with the Johnson-Finnegan fight on the under-card. 2,000 miles of driving but a great trip. Ideas for the next one gratefully received.
Owners Hall of Fame
The votes are in and it was another close election. A whole range of BUMS and former BUMS received votes from 13 active owners who let their voices be heard. Aaron, Andy H, Dave G, Daz, Guli, Phil, Ron and Wayne all received votes but in the end the owner who joins Cheryl, Chief, Mark and Johnnie in the hallowed Marbled Halls received 4 votes. A huge congratulations goes to the 2005 Papas Fritas winner, 3-times BUMSBowl champion ad 2004 Conference winner who has 5 Scoring Hall of Fame appearances. Welcome Daz Abberstein, Owner of the Underachieving Bastards into the Hall of Fame, Owners Wing. Players on Injured Reserve
From now on any player on a BUMS roster who is put on IR may be replaced. It is your responsibility to monitor your players health. I will try to keep an eye on everyone but if you know email me. With Washington putting Clinton Portis on IR Daz showed his Hall of Fame form by signing Buffalo RB Fred Jackson who was on his team for week 12 and paid him back immediately with a TD. H has a problem for the rest of the season as San Francisco put H’s Franchise RB Frank Gore on IR. Sadly H has already committed all his budget for 2010 and so cannot replace him. Remember the weekends now start on Thursday Night so I need your change by 11pm Thursday. This week it’s Houston @ Philadelphia. BUMS on Seats
We return to normality with Sky’s doubleheader being viewed on Sunday from 6pm at BUMS HQ. First up is the AFC South match-up as Jacksonville travel to Tennessee followed by an AFC West tilt as San Diego host Oakland. We’ll be at H’s on Monday from 6:30pm to see the leading AFC North teams face-off as Pittsburgh play in Baltimore. This crucial intra-divisional week finishes at Johnnies on Tuesday at 6:30pm for the MNF as the two best records in the AFC clash with the Jets facing the Patriots in the AFC East.
